New driveways, replacements, extensions, and parking pads — properly based, reinforced, and finished for coastal Virginia's water table and weather.
The finish is what you see, but the base is what you're paying for. In Hampton Roads' sandy, high-water-table soil, a driveway that doesn't crack starts with excavation to proper depth, a compacted stone base, correct slope for drainage, and control joints cut where the slab wants to crack anyway. Post & Pour builds every slab that way — driveway, patio, or shed pad.

Most standard broom-finish driveways in Virginia Beach run $8–$14 per square foot installed, depending on thickness, reinforcement, and demo of existing pavement. Stamped and exposed-aggregate finishes run higher. Quotes are itemized by prep, pour, and finish.
Four inches of 3,500+ PSI concrete over a compacted stone base for passenger vehicles, and 5–6 inches where trucks, boats, or RVs will park. We reinforce with fiber mesh or rebar based on the slab's job.
Foot traffic after 24–48 hours, passenger vehicles after 7 days, heavy vehicles after 28 days when the slab reaches full design strength.
It can. High water tables and sandy fill mean base prep matters more here than almost anywhere. We compact and grade the base properly and slope slabs for drainage so water sheds away from your foundation.
